Dražen Lesica is the fourth generation of restaurateurs in his family. Their legendary restaurant Rivica, located in Njivice on the island of Krk, was founded in 1934, marking its 90 th anniversary in 2024. From the outset, Rivica’s cuisine has been rooted in the sea and island ingredients. While Dražen Lesica has introduced modern culinary techniques, he continues to prioritize respect for local and seasonal ingredients of his region. Lesica emphasizes, ‘For us, quality begins and ends with the ingredient,’ drawing inspiration from traditional recipes. As an excellent sommelier, he approaches wine and food pairing with equal care, showcasing Krk native varieties, especially Žlahtina, the island’s trademark.
