Egle Katunar, along with her husband, the prominent Krk winemaker Ivan Katunar, who inherited the family business from his parents, runs the “Kuća vina Ivan Katunar” winery. As a lover of tradition and local customs, she conducts wine tastings in the winery and wine cellar, educating guests about winemaking on the island of Krk. Through storytelling, her chosen approach, she fosters warm and emotionally engaged dialogues with guests.
Egle Katunar strengthens the position of Kvarner and its native grapes through her membership in the ‘Vina Kvarnera’ winegrowers association, alongside her husband. She is also a member of the active and well-known women’s initiative ‘Žene za otok’ (Women for the Island), which connects women entrepreneurs. Her projects have a significant impact on the local community. Egle believes in the power of education and successfully spreads the story of tradition, sustainability and the heritage of the island of Krk and the region.
