On Friday 12 February, Pelle Øby Andersen from The Food Organisation of Denmark will represent Aarhus/Central Denmark Region in Milan at the BIT Fair (The largest tourism fair in Italy). The region has been invited alongside Riga-Gauja Region and East Lombardy as regions for hosting the European Region of Gastronomy 2017Award. The three regions will be presenting their year long-programmes during the conference. The Award is a recognition of the strong focus on food innovation and excellent food in the region and is awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT). His Royal Highness, The Prince Consort, Prince Henrik of Denmark, has agreed to be Central Denmark Region’s official patron for the year of gastronomy.
